Community Education & Resources

Being there for the community. It’s how we make all our
lives better.

WellLife Network provides training and workshop opportunities to support development in the communities in which we live. Our goal is to improve community awareness by providing courses that make a difference. These include suicide prevention and awareness, mental health first aid, and parenting and adolescents-at-risk education.

Community Education and Awareness

The care, empathy, and skills of WellLife Network are deeply infused throughout our communities. We believe what we offer is not just about the individuals we serve, but about each and every, New Yorker. For each person we touch, the impact ripples outward in good things.

Courses Available

Substance Use Prevention

The opioid crisis has had a huge human cost on Long Island. Nobody is left untouched, taxpayers, consumers and businesses. This program raises awareness within the communities we serve. We believe through classroom education, workshops, social media, group discussion and events we can increase the attention of local communities on this widespread disorder.

NARCAN Training

NARCAN/NALOXONE training at WellLife Network provides essential education and practical skills to individuals, equipping them to respond to opioid overdoses. By teaching proper techniques and raising awareness about overdose prevention, this training empowers community members to take proactive measures in combating the opioid epidemic and saving lives.

MH First Aid

This is an 8-hour course that introduces participants to mental health risk factors and warning signs. The course uses role-playing and simulations, teaching participants about the signs and symptoms of specific illnesses including anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and addictions.

Suicide Prevention

WellLife Network offers two suicide prevention training programs. SafeTalk, a suicide-alertness seminar, prepares participants over the age of 15 to become suicide alert. The second is Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) for those over the age of 16. This training is designed for clinicians and other professionals interested in learning a comprehensive assessment model for suicide risk.
