Max Banilivy, Ph.D. - Mansour (Max) Banilivy, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist and the Director of WellLife Network’s Clinical Training, Education and Field Placement services for the past 34 years, providing comprehensive multidisciplinary behavioral and emotional health services, training and consultation nationally to school districts, private and nonprofit community agencies.

Description:

September 10th of each year is World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) and the ensuing week, The National Suicide Prevention Week. Organizations and agencies across the country organize and conduct various activities to bring awareness and education to this very important national epidemic taking the lives of over 6000 youth and young adults and at least over 46,000 in total that we are able to know about. As tragic as this statistic is, over million individuals try to kill themselves leaving a very large number of individuals in the society, young and old, with lived experience and as survivors with emotional challenges. Every suicide affects at least 10 and according to some 15 individuals very intimately.

WellLife Network (WLN) has been in the forefront and a leader among nonprofit and for profit organizations from the onset on suicide prevention initiative at the state and regional level in developing, organizing and delivering 100s of trainings for various agencies in order to bring awareness, educate and train the community regarding this NATIONAL CRISIS. As a leader in the field of suicide prevention, intervention and postvention, WLN on a regular basis trains professionals and the community members at large.

Seminar Topics

  • Understand and develop an awareness of the signs and invitations from the individuals with thoughts of suicide.
  • Learn and feel comfortable ask directly about suicide.
  • Learn how to listen and respond, in a constructive and helpful manner, to individuals with thoughts of suicide.
  • Develop safety guidelines by "Keeping Safe for now" and learn to connect to community resources.
