TIDAL W.A.V.E. YOUTH LEADERSHIP ASSOCIATION

This Leadership Association is youth run and staff guided, providing teens with the opportunity to learn the skills and attitudes necessary to be successful in their lives. W.A.V.E. stands for Work, Achievement, Values and Education. A local chapter of Tidal W.A.V.E. Youth Leadership Program was established on Long Island in 2008. Youth meet weekly to plan fundraisers and social events and advocate for change by making annual trips to Albany.

Members are devoted to creating change in the systems of care and build youth voice. 

They are also dedicated to creating infrastructures and funding mechanisms to support meaningful family and youth participation in planning and policy making and the improvement of services systems at the provider, local and state levels. Members want to improve service delivery systems and the social and emotional learning, health and well-being of children and youth.

Tidal W.A.V.E. is the local chapter of Youth MOVE National.
